The University supports diversity by advancing equal opportunity in employment for all persons. We strongly encourage you to review and utilize the recruitment sources we have provided, and to review the guidance below regarding advertising and the use of external search firms:

Required EEO Statement for Faculty & Staff Positions:

The following language should be used in all advertising for faculty and staff positions:

“Georgetown University is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, citizenship, color, disability, family responsibilities, gender identity and expression, genetic information, marital status, matriculation, national origin, race, religion, personal appearance, political affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.”

External Search Firms:

When contracting with an external search firm, please work with the university’s Revenue & Receivables department to ensure that the firm’s policies meet the university’s Equal Opportunity obligations, as well as its Affirmative Action requirements pertaining to Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans in accordance with 41 C.F.R. § 60-300.44(a) and 41 C.F.R. § 60-741.44(a).

One of the aforementioned obligations is to collect and maintain certain applicant data. Please ensure that the selected firm is able to collect such data, or otherwise require that all applicants apply to the position directly through the Georgetown career site. The firm can confidentially provide this information directly to the Office for Equal Opportunity Compliance at oeoc@georgetown.edu, along with the relevant search information.

Please note that any academic area using a search firm to recruit and hire a full-time faculty position must still submit to the Office for Equal Opportunity Compliance all components of the Faculty Recruitment Plan.
